Project Description: The course promotes and fosters the development of CAMP students through training, professional development, and community building. The course places talented CAMP students who have shown great leadership potential in government, business and nonprofit organizations to prepare them for positions of leadership. Learning Objectives: - To examine leadership and public policy within the context of a changing contemporary multicultural and multiethnic society. - To increase professional knowledge and contacts while learning desirable lifelong skills. - Complete 8-10 hours of service learning (per week for 12 weeks per semester for an academic year) acquired through service learning.

Project Description: Bio 195T is a service learning opportunity for biology majors and minors interested in exploring a career in K-12 science teaching. It is an elective, stand-alone field experience that is not embedded or linked to another course. As a result, students will apply knowledge accumulated throughout their degree programs. Through this course, students will gain authentic experience in a middle or high school science classroom, which will help inform their career decisions and promote the development of their civic identities.
