Project Description

Project Description: Students will participate in an Intergenerational Celebration at Hart Senior Center and do cross-cultural activities with International Students in the Office of Global Education. Through both exchanges, students will gain an understanding of the ideas and values of education posed by different generations, thinkers, and cultures.

Project Description: Sacramento State students work with a first or second grader who needs help with the basics: addition and subtraction facts, telling time, working with money, and learning geometric shapes. The Sacramento State tutors practice flashcards, play games, write math story word problems, working with base ten pieces, play money, clocks, white boards, dice and spinners.

Project Description: Barrio Art for Ethnic Groups emphasizes the concept of "Comuniversidad," the bridge between the university and the community, by providing CSUS students with a meaningful cultural/educational experience in a multicultural and multilingual setting. Participating students learn hands-on how to integrate and implement art lessons that are appropiate in a multicultural learning enviroment.

Project Description: Students spend a total 15 hours of service in community-based recreation for individuals with disabilities. Reflection on service integrate the field and classroom experience.

Project Description: Students will work with persons with physical disabilities and completing case studies where they will be applying concepts and theories presented in class. This includes; completing an activity analysis, recreational therapy assessment, planning appropriate recreation activities, writing treatment goals and objectives, and evaluating the progress of each individual.”
