Project Description: Students have a choice of selecting a service learning placement from a diverse list of options. Therefore students engage in a broad range of activities from working in programs serving infants, toddlers, school age students, adolescents and adults. Project Description: Students enrolled in Ethnic Studies 134 will plan and organize an event showcasing Mexican music, songs and dance to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 1st, 2008. Students will be divided into committees to organize all aspects of the event. Students are responsible for researching and booking local bands and dance groups as well as publicizing the event. This event will be free and open to the public.

Project Description: In order to become familiar with the operations of an elementary school, ChDv 35F students volunteer to work with students in a public elementary classroom for a minimum of 40 hours during the semester.
