Project Description: The purpose of the experience is to help students gain a substantially more sophisticated understanding of how genetic abnormalities manifest in real life. In addition, students should feel themselves becoming more comfortable with the genetically disabled population, a particularly important skill for students who are planning a career as a biology teacher, physician, pharmacist, dentist, or other service-oriented occupation related to the students degree. As a member of such a profession, students are likely to encounter genetically disabled individuals on a frequent basis and will be serving them as part of his/her job.
