Project Description: Requires administrative service learning in an early childhood program, public or private. This course fulfills 3 of the required 8 units on the CHDV Permit Matrix for a Site Supervisor or Program Director level. This is a practical course in preparation for holding a supervisory or administrative position in an early childhood program. This necessitates learning the licensing regulations, nutrition and safety requirements, how to observe, assess and evaluate children and environments as well as how to develop curriculum to meet the needs of the children and families. This is necessary for students to gather information to complete required projects.

The experience helps our students put a "human face" on the genetic disorders we discuss in class and see, first hand, how the disorders manifest in the real world (shades of gray rather than etxtbook black-and-white).
