At the end of the semester the Sacramento State students host a campus day for the fifth grade students hopefully inspiring in the elementary students the understanding that they too can become university students some day.

Project Description: Students provide mentoring services to high school/junior high school students/parents as part of the Ethnic Studies Department 65th Street Corridor Project. Students are expected to make connections between the readings, which focus on racial/ethnic diversity and inequality, to their experience working with a diverse body of students from the local community. Students who complete their service learning project will not have to complete a specific assigned paper for the Ethnic Studies 30 class.
