Additional Information

Transcripts

Transfers: Request official transcripts be sent directly from all colleges or universities previously attended even if no coursework was completed. Transcripts must be received in sealed envelopes from each institution attended. You should keep personal copies of all transcripts and test scores to complete the admission application and for academic advising sessions.

If transferring with fewer than 60 transferable semester (90 quarter) units of study, you must also submit your high school transcript.

Test Scores

Freshman and transfer applicants (fewer than 60 semester or 90 quarter units of transferable college credit) must submit ACT or SAT I test scores if their high school GPA is lower than 3.0. If you are applying to an impacted program and are required to submit test scores, you should take the test no later than early December if applying for fall admission. Test scores are also used for advising and placement purposes. Registration forms and dates for the SAT I or ACT are available from high school or college counselors.

TOEFL Requirement:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required if your native language is not English**. The minimum score for undergraduates is 510. Those students completing the computer-based TOEFL will be required to earn a minimum of 180 for undergraduates. Students completing the new internet-based test will be required to submit a minimum score of 64 for undergraduates.

**Note: California State University, Sacramento interprets "where English was the principal language of instruction" to mean that a school is located in a country where English is the native language (the daily medium of communication of the majority of residents is English), and that the students receive academic instruction in all subjects (except foreign language courses) at all levels of education in English.

For more information, please contact International Admissions.

EOP Applicants

Sacramento State has an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) for low-income undergraduate students who are disadvantaged because of their economic and educational backgrounds. EOP serves California residents who do not meet regular admission criteria, as well as those who qualify for regular admission, if they have a history of low income and need academic and financial assistance.

EOP provides admission, academic and financial assistance to students who qualify and are accepted to the program. For further information, contact the EOP Office Student Service Center.
