Residence Classification InformationUnder California law, each campus must determine the residence status of all new and returning students. Nonresidents are required to pay nonresident tuition (see current Registration and Advising Handbook) and meet other conditions. Generally, to be eligible for resident classification, an adult applicant must have established and maintained permanent residence in California at least one year prior to the residence determination date. Residence determination of minors is based on the residence status of their parents. Minors are those applicants under the age of 19 on the applicable residence determination date. Residence determination dates for each academic term are: |
|
| Fall | September 20th |
|---|---|
| Winter | January 5th (Stanislaus only) |
| Spring | January 25th |
| Summer | June 1st |
